My goal upon graduation next spring is to secure a fellowship in hospital administration. I believe that a summer internship at New York-Presbyterian will be invaluable in helping me develop a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics that drive the financing and delivery of care in a large academic medical center.
Prior to enrolling in graduate school, I worked for three years as the Director of Meeting Planning for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. This position provided me with the opportunity to collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals and patients in developing educational programs that raised awareness about PH with the goal of earlier diagnosis, better disease management and improved patient prognosis. My experience in aligning the motivations of various stakeholders and executing projects in high-stress situations has helped me to foster a strong skill set that will translate well in a hospital operations role.
